Pool View

D. & S. Scarnell (Sept 09):  We've had a lovely holiday and recommend the 12 Island Boat Trip. We would love to return in the not too distant future.

H. & J. Holland (Aug-Sept 09):   Kavaklar was a brilliant find and has exceeded expectations, a totally relaxing time.

A. Punt &  T. Harris (Aug 09):  Thank you for making it such a comfortable and charming place to stay. We hope to be back next year.

A. & R. Spikes ( July-Aug 09):  This is our second time in this villa and its fantastic to be back. Revisiting Turtle Beach was a priority for us with the wonderful boat trip (Dalyan). We canoed down the Xanthos River to Patara and took a boat to St. Nicolas Island and Butterfly Valley.

C. & M. Rawle, (May-June 09):  We've been to Turkey a number of times but have to say this is the best villa we've stayed in. The garden is beautiful. We visited Xanthos this time and enjoyed Limon Restaurant in Gocek.

P. & E. MacDowell, Hayling Island (Oct 08) have said: The villa & garden are beautiful with trees laden with pomegranates. A bit chilly in the pool (late Oct) but the sea was lovely. Kalkan & Kas are well worth a visit though 2 hours drive.

(editor note: sorry no french accents in text).

J.L. & D. Labadie,  Bordeaux ,  ( Aug 08) say: Merci pour votre superbe maison, son jardin si agreable, la piscine si luxueuse. Nous vous communiquons "Garden Village" Restaurant a Kayakoy (demander Tamel).

B. & C. Geary, Dorset, (July-Aug 08) wrote: We've just spent the 1st week of our honeymoon in your beautiful villa, it has far exceeded our expectations and we love Turkey ! Spent a morning in Tlos, did rafting down the Saklikent river and the 12 island boat trip was the highlight of our stay. A huge thank you to you both and to Ferhat and family who look after this place. We leave extremely reluctantly and hope to return soon !

H. Vacher & A. Cooper, West Sussex (July 08) say: The villa is stunning, garden magnificent & the pool a real treat. We really enjoyed the Dalyan mudbaths (messy but fun !), Rock Tombs and the Kayakoy ghost town. Strongly recommend Blue (in Gocek) for dinner and Rokka Cafe (Gocek) for lunch.

L. & T Walker,  Edinburgh  (June-July 08) wrote: Wherever we had gone we always looked forward to coming back and cooling off in the glorious pool. Spent alot of time relaxing at Dice Cafe with its hammocks and lovely sea breeze !

T. Lockett & P. Taylor, London (June 08) say: This was our first holiday abroad together and I can honestly say it felt like a honeymoon. The peace and quiet of the villa and the luxury of having the pool to ourselves cannot be stressed enough. We drove to Adrasan (Lycian coast road) a small bay and I was pleased to see it had not changed much. I hope to return to the villa next year. May we suggest a TV with some DVDs for any kids ?

H. Watmough & J. Fletcher, Brighton (Sept 07) emailed : We had a wonderful time at the villa, it couldn't have been more perfect. As soon as we arrived we knew we had picked the perfect honeymoon location. We planned to do a lot of sightseeing but as we were enjoying ourselves so much at kavaklar, we just ended up lazing by the pool. The week just flew by. Many many thanks again for helping to make our honeymoon so memorable.

M. & P. Hughes Wallasey, Wirral (Sept 07) said: We've had a wonderful week in the beautiful Villa Kavaklar and have really appreciated your thoughtful attention to detail and planning. This was our first trip to Turkey but it was an effort to drag ourselves away from the peaceful surroundings to see some of the locality. The garden is beautiful and we have enjoyed the scent of jasmine through the kitchen windows. We spent a day on Nejdet's boat the Sea Bird, swimming in the bays and eating a delicious barbequed lunch, though communication was limited ! We will miss the scents and sounds of Kavaklar even the early morning call to prayer and the cockerel ! We hope to return in the future.

A. & A. Roberts-Grenier,  Stafford (August 07) have written: We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kavaklar. The majority of the time was spent around the pool enjoying the serene surroundings, honing in on BBQ skills ! We visited Dalyan where at a harbourside cafe turtles came to feed at the edge. Also we recommend the Ghost Town Istanbul Restaurant an old favourite. We thank everyone for making our stay stress-free. We certainly recommend the villa and will return in the near future.

N. & F. Birkett, Winchester (August 07) say: This has been a memorable holiday in a wonderful villa, our first and not last visit of Turkey. We enjoyed the peace and tranquility interrupted only by the reassuring sound of a donkey and the Imam's call to prayer. Everyone we met has been very kind, friendly and welcoming. The neighbours who maintain the garden and a spotlessly clean pool are to be commended. The village shop is a must. We enjoyed a wonderful 12 Island tour (£ 10 each including barbecue lunch) did Kayakoy Ghost Town, the Lycian tombs at Fethiye, Gemile Beach, Tlos and Yakapark (Trout farm / mountain restaurant) and of course Dalyan.

R. & A. Spikes, Bampton (July 07) wrote: This is quite the best villa we have ever stayed in, thank you for your attention to detail in every aspect of its running. We leave with very fond memories of the magnificent views from the veranda and the luxury of our own private pool. Eating out in Gocek has been a real feature of the holiday and we thoroughly recommend "Blue" for its stylish presentation, vegetarian and fish dishes. Try "Rokka" for coffee and cheesecake. All the boat trips have been fabulous. We are already planning our return !

C. & C. West, Dunstable (July 07) said: Our stay at Kavaklar Villa has been superb. How can anyone not enjoy the tranquil and picturesque surroundings with the panoramic views ? The villa itself with its tasteful decoration and attention to detail makes it a pleasure to stay in. With high temperatures every day it was difficult deciding whether to travel and visit or stay around the very inviting pool. We would also like to mention the team who look after the pool and gardens so well. We will definitely be returning in the future.

G. Wilson & G. Smyth, Glasgow (June 2007) wrote: Villa Kavaklar has been a great find for us as it's ideal for a couple with the bonus of a private pool. The setting is perfect as you feel like you're miles away from civilisation but you have the marina village of Gocek on your doorstep as an ideal base. We're going to miss the background symphony of donkey, cow and cockerel ! For excursions: the 12 Island Cruise was great value, Dalyan with its mudbaths and turtle beach was fun and Kayakoy Ghost Town was an experience ! We've been to Turkey before but this piece of coastline is something special !
